An Advanced MxPro 5 fire panel has been installed to deliver robust, future-proof fire protection across the headquarters of Knight Group, a leading contracting company based in Essex.
Knight Group’s existing 2-zone conventional fire alarm system no longer met the demands of its facilities, which include multiple buildings and varied operational areas. A modern, addressable solution was needed to provide comprehensive coverage, integrate with existing safety equipment, and link to several outbuildings, including one housing a separate conventional system, without compromising day-to-day operations.
M&G Fire Protection, who have worked with Knight Group since 1999, were appointed to design, install and commission the upgrade. The team selected a two-loop MxPro 5 panel, operating with Apollo XP95 protocol devices and incorporating wireless technology to ensure reliable connectivity between buildings.
The configuration also includes a Scope F-Link radio system to connect the remote outbuilding’s conventional panel, with zone monitors and sounder controllers allowing existing devices to be brought under the addressable system. The installation integrates both wired and wireless devices, as well as new and existing door retainers, all managed from the single MxPro 5 panel.
Steve Middleton, Director at M&G Fire Protection, said “The MxPro 5 offers the reliability, flexibility and ease of use we need to deliver projects like this. With a mix of building types and the need to integrate older equipment, it was important to have a solution that could handle varied configurations without compromise, and Advanced delivered exactly that.”
Salvy Vittozzi, Regional Sales Manager for the South East at Advanced, added “this project shows how the MxPro 5 can bring together different technologies, wired, wireless and connections to conventional systems, into one seamless solution. M&G have done an excellent job delivering a solution that not only meets Knight Group’s immediate needs, but is also scalable for the future.”
Approved to EN54 Parts 2 and 4, the MxPro 5 offers powerful false alarm management, enhanced configuration capabilities, and compatibility with multiple open protocols for maximum design flexibility. Knight Group’s fire safety is now in line with current standards and ready to meet future requirements. With its intuitive programming, robust networking capacity and versatile format options, the MxPro 5 provides scalable, future-ready protection. For sites requiring remote oversight, it also supports secure, real-time monitoring via AdvancedLive, available in the UK and Ireland.
