Warwick Technology Park, Warwickshire

A three-storey commercial office building at Warwick Technology Park has been equipped with a new fire alarm system centred on Advanced’s MxPro 5 control panel, delivering reliable protection alongside a flexible foundation for future expansion.

The project formed part of a Cat A fit out focused on the building’s landlord areas, including circulation spaces, a top-floor plant room and a remote bike shed. With office floors handed over in a stripped-out condition, the fire alarm system was designed to provide initial coverage while allowing for straightforward extension as tenants take occupancy and complete their own fit outs.

JCB Fire Ltd was responsible for the full delivery of the project, from system design through to installation and final commissioning. Working entirely in-house, the team installed a flush-mounted four-loop MxPro 5 control panel, configured to meet the requirements of the initial fit out while supporting future development of the building.

To ensure complete coverage across all areas of the site, including locations where cabling would have been impractical, the system incorporates wireless technology. This approach enabled protection to be extended to the site’s remote bike shed without the need for complex or disruptive installation works, while maintaining full system integrity.

The MxPro 5 platform was well suited to the project’s phased nature, offering the flexibility needed for a commercial development where occupancy and layout will evolve over time. Its scalable architecture allows additional devices and detection to be integrated easily as individual office spaces are fitted out, ensuring the system can grow in line with tenant requirements.

With extensive configuration capabilities and support for both wired and wireless elements, the system provides a strong and adaptable fire safety solution across the building. This ensures that, as the site develops, protection can be expanded efficiently without impacting existing operations.

Grant Wheeler, Managing Director at JCB Fire Ltd, said:

“This project required a flexible approach from the outset, as the building is being completed in phases with tenant fit outs still to come. The MxPro 5 gave us the adaptability we needed, allowing us to deliver robust protection now while ensuring the system can be extended easily as the site develops. Carrying out the full project in-house also meant we could maintain quality and consistency throughout.”

Hanif Ghodawala, Sales Manager for the UK Midlands at Advanced, added:

“Commercial office developments like this demand systems that can evolve alongside their occupants. The MxPro 5’s scalability makes it ideally suited to Cat A fit outs, where initial protection must be in place but future expansion is essential. JCB Fire have delivered a strong solution that will continue to meet the site’s needs as it grows.”

With a reliable core system now installed and a clear path for expansion, Advanced’s MxPro 5 is supporting fire safety at the Warwick Technology Park site both today and in the future, providing a scalable platform that can adapt to ongoing development and changing tenant requirements.
