Advanced is continuing its partnership with Children North East, supporting the charity’s work to create positive change for babies, children, young people and families.
The partnership began in September 2025 through Halma’s Impact the Future Fund, an initiative that enables Halma companies to nominate non-profit organisations for funding and establish partnerships with successful applicants.
Since then, Advanced has worked with Children North East through a combination of funding, volunteering and colleague-led activities. The partnership has included support for the charity’s Poverty Proofing work, alongside opportunities for Advanced employees to contribute directly to its work in local communities.
Colleagues have volunteered at Children North East’s Morpeth shop and supported donation drives providing clothing, footwear, toys, books, homewares and other items for the charity to sell.
Advanced also supported Children North East’s annual beach day at Seaburn, which brought together around 100 local children and their families for a summer day out. Advanced volunteers helped run activities including beach games, creative play and sandcastle competitions.
Following the approval of further funding in September 2026, Advanced’s partnership with Children North East is now continuing for another 12 months, opening up further opportunities for colleagues to support the charity and its work.
One of the next activities will be a Poverty Proofing & Awareness Session for Advanced colleagues in November. Led by Children North East, the session will explore poverty, financial hardship and stigma, helping colleagues understand experiences that may not always be visible and consider how language and assumptions can affect people’s confidence, wellbeing and everyday interactions.
The session will also give colleagues an opportunity to learn more about how Halma’s Impact the Future Fund is supporting Children North East’s Poverty Proofing project.
Looking ahead, Advanced and Children North East are exploring further ways for colleagues to get involved. The charity is preparing its 2027 events calendar, which will help identify future activities that Advanced can support as the partnership enters its next phase.
The partnership forms part of Advanced’s wider commitment to creating a safer, sustainable future, extending that purpose beyond the fire safety technologies we develop and into the communities around us.
