We are delighted to welcome Claire Greenwood to Advanced, who joins the business as our new Technical Director.
In this role, Claire will be responsible for engineering and technology across the business, leading our R&D function and helping to drive innovation, product development and delivery in support of Advanced’s long-term strategic goals.
She will also join the Advanced Leadership Team, working closely with colleagues across the business to support future growth and continuous improvement.
Claire brings more than 20 years of engineering leadership experience, having begun her career in telecommunications before progressing through a range of senior engineering, technical leadership and management roles. Most recently, she spent almost nine years as Engineering Director at Oxford Instruments Andor, where she led multidisciplinary teams spanning embedded software, firmware, FPGA, electronics, mechanical engineering, software applications and physics across locations including Belfast, Toronto, Zurich and Aix-en-Provence.
An electrical and electronic engineer by training, Claire has extensive experience leading global engineering teams, supporting product launches and managing the integration of acquisitions. She is passionate about building empowered, high-performing teams where innovation and curiosity can thrive, and is looking forward to bringing that experience to Advanced.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Claire is an active STEM Ambassador and mentor who is passionate about encouraging the next generation of engineers, particularly young women, into the profession. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dachshund, Bowie.
